The Women’s movement.
For years now, I have been trying to figure out what’s the story with the women’s movement. Why do the women most vocal about the movement seem so radical—they’re certainly not mainstream. Is it that we need to be extreme to be heard? After all, as far as my understanding, it’s a movement for women’s rights. Women are good, I like women, they’re as good as any other sex. Women should be treated fairly and equally—period!
Like my thoughts on race. Why are there different race distinctions if we are all part of the human race—the system of this sort of classification almost begs the problem. Why is there a question on forms that asks for your race if not set up to distinguish?
If we (men, women, etc.) are all people, shouldn’t we be all treated equally with equal rights?
It is this thought process that has confounded and confused me since forever…
So when I see someone not being treated equally it short-circuits my brain!
Back to the movement that’s supposed to help in the endeavor to create and promote equality—the Women’s Movement!
There’s this hypocrisy that the Feminist movement, spews or ironically doesn’t, in some cases. (that was for Katie Couric) To spew, or not, to spew, is the is the problem not the question!
Actually, I try to figure out the motive for hypocrisy in most things, but let’s stick to this subject today! Think about the questions below while reading the rest of this post.
- Why are we willing to sacrifice our standards, morals and ethics?
- Why don’t we see that we become stronger if we stand by what we say?
- Why do we pander to those who can advance our cause quickly when we can advance our cause exponentially by walking the walk, holding everyone accountable, not giving a pass to those we like personally but hurt the cause with their actions.
It has occurred to me that it is in the organization itself where there is a distinction, dividing up the group women. Like my dividing up the human race example. It’s not really an EVERY Woman’s Movement—it’s an as-long-as-you-agree-with-my-dogmatic-ideology Women’s Movement. If you don’t you are only a woman by Chromosome and don’t deserve respect or inclusion—Gloria Steinem. Nice Job Gloria!
Hypocrisy is a big problem with many movements, it’s why the movement is talked in a dim light by the mainstream. Something can be done about this image / stigma—be consistent, have values that apply to all not just some… Your beliefs don’t define you as a woman, don’t make a you a woman that fly in different classes! You want respect, by all, respect all!
Let’s look at recent glaring examples of not spewing:
Who can forget the pass Bill Clinton got, (having a long public history of infidelity and accusations) when he not only cheated on his wife and family (poor Chelsea) in the White-House, (usually cause for feminists warships to be dispatched) but repeatedly had a sexual relationship with a 21 year old intern (Unheard-of-silence by the Feminists) Crickets, I heard, while groups like NOW said nothing or even still supported Bill Clinton! Gloria Steinem still supported him—SOME women be damned!
If Hillary dumps Bill Clinton right after he leaves office, people would respect her strength and resolve! Some would even cross party lines to commend her—I would be one of those people who would genuinely respect her decision. She doesn’t do this because she wants the Senate seat. She doesn’t do it for expediency sake. Hillary wanted power and she wanted it now!
Imagine how powerful she would have become without him… Imagine if he didn’t participate in her bid to be the Democratic nominee… She might have been the first Woman President, but… now she won’t even be the first woman Vice President!
Things have changed since then—right?
Just the last few days:
- You’re really going to judge Sarah Palin by her hairstyle?
- You’re really going to judge Sarah Palin by her clothes?
- You’re really going to judge Sarah Palin for going back to work after she had a baby—Really? Isn’t that the double standard you fight so hard against? (Did you even ask or care that she brought the baby to work so she could breast feed?)
- You’re really going to stand by while people Photoshop her likeness on unlikeable things? Really?
- You’re not only standing by, you’re actively participating— shame on you! REALLY!

Where is the outrage—oh, it's coming...
Now, it’s clear to me. A group that claims to have the rights of women at it’s pinnacle only applies their standards to women who share their beliefs…
This rant wouldn’t be complete without touching on this point: You all do realize that it’s close to an even split on the pro-life pro-choice debate, right? Only a small percentage leans to pro-choice. So almost half the people don’t agree with the other half!
But this aside, isn’t it ironic that the right to choose only seems to mean as long as you choose an abortion? A right to choose means you can choose to have the baby, right?
What would drive the issue if there were only a small percentage of people having abortions? Something to think about.
This in from Ed Morrissey at Hot Air:
Abortion rates drop again
The rate of abortion has reached the lowest point since Roe v Wade, according to a study by the Guttmacher Institute and the LA Times. Disparities attributable to either race or income levels have become more stark, though, and the question of targeting minorities for abortion services will likely get more attention… The good news was that abortion rates fell across the board. However, the drop was most dramatic among whites, while abortions for African-Americans and Latinas fell at a much slower rate. Why? The Times quotes one San Francisco expert as claiming that ignorance and poverty were the underlying causes.
Sarah Palin is fresh, she’s an American Woman success story! Regardless of her positions or ideology Sarah should be congratulated and toasted by the same people trying to tear her down. I don’t expect you to vote for her because she’s a woman. I don’t expect you to hold back difficult questions about her and for her. This is about our country and I expect scrutiny. I expect you to be honorable not ornery, fair not frigid, hard not hateful—how about a little intellectual integrity…
I can respect someone for having different ideas than me, I can respect someone for taking a different path than I, and I can respect someone who disagrees with me, but I can’t respect someone who thinks they are better than me because they do… I am Woman and I expect just that!
I love women! I respect women. I respect your right to believe what you do and I EXPECT you to respect mine!

Mom might wrestle me to the ground to get the ring back if she reads this…
The Post is actually a pro-Women, ALL WOMEN, post. The idea is to hopefully outrage the people within to make a radical change to stop being so radical.
For example I could have said that ALL Feminists hate or have a disdain for men. I don’t believe that they all do, but I do believe there is a fringe of the fringe group that definitely do.
If I used “ALL Feminists hate or have a disdain for men” example I would expect disagreement and some anger, hopefully causing the discussion to make people think and possibly see things differently. Maybe even expose some hypocrisy…
